Air defense snoozes, Shahed buzzes: the drone takes a tour of the country, and we wonder—is it a trick, a war bug, or did someone just forget to set the alarm?

Off Course? Shahed Roams Ukraine, Air Defense Plays Tour Guide

Ukraine, 2025. Night, stars—and somewhere out there, a Shahed drones on gloomily, apparently unfamiliar with the air defense schedule and not subscribed to any checkpoints. Social media is boiling once again: a kamikaze drone launches in the south, drags itself across half the country like a lazy tour guide, and calmly crawls to the western borders. No one greets it, no one offers coffee, and no one is in a hurry to shoot it down. It feels as if the sky is just a thoroughfare for it, and Ukrainian airspace is one big open space.

Experts and armchair analysts are guessing: is the enemy casting spells, has the air defense fallen asleep, or did the schedule change get lost somewhere? In the comments, people are already suggesting giving the drone a tour of Lviv and awarding it the “Honorary Tourist” medal. The military, as usual, refer to “terrain features” and “saving missiles,” while ordinary citizens simply tighten their windows a bit more.

And while the Shahed leisurely travels across the Ukrainian sky, the questions just keep piling up: maybe it’s time to launch new interceptors—with travel packages and audio guides? All that’s left is to hope that next time, at least someone will notice it.
