10 Simple Habits That Will Change Your Life (Assuming You Have Any Control Over It)
Published:
You can buy a $30 journal and burn out in three days. Or you can start small—and maybe make it to Monday without feeling guilty.

Habits That Don’t Annoy You
Everyone loves habits. Especially those who haven’t kept one longer than it takes to get food delivered.
I was in that club too: read “Atomic Habits,” started a tracker, and... forgot about it on day four.
So here are 10 habits that:
work even for people with anxiety, hangovers, and TikTok access;
don’t require Buddhism or Silicon Valley;
and can actually change your life a little. I’m not promising enlightenment, but at least a tidy desk.
1. Drink water in the morning like you’re not a camel
Sounds dumb. Works brilliantly.
The first glass—and your body’s like, “Wow, are we actually going to survive today?!”
2. Write three lines in the morning: nonsense, swearing, goals—whatever
Not a journal, just a dump for your thoughts.
Write it down—free up your RAM.
The brain loves order, even if you don’t.
3. Go outside for no reason, like grandpa in the '80s
Just walk. No podcast, no tasks, no “10,000 steps.”
Airing out your head—an underrated habit.
4. Ask yourself, “Do I even want to do this?”
It’s amazing how often you eat, watch, socialize—just because “you’re supposed to.”
Sometimes “not supposed to” is the best advisor.
5. Cook food at least once a week. Yes, yourself.
Not for Instagram. For not turning into a microwave with a subscription.
Cooking is therapy. Or torture. But at least you’re alive.
6. Do one hard thing a day—before lunch
Not because you’re disciplined. Because after that, you turn into an amoeba.
Morning is the only time you’re not yet morally burned out.
7. Fall asleep with a book, not a screen
You won’t fall asleep faster, but at least you won’t dream about liking someone else’s life again.
8. Write “not to do” lists
Example:
Don’t open Instagram before noon
Don’t argue in the comments with Aunt Galya
Don’t start a show at 11:30 pm
Genius, because it works.
9. Once a week—an entire day without social media
Brain detox. Space for boredom.
And in boredom is born… well, at least a thought. Maybe just one.
10. Plan your week on Sundays. In 7 minutes. No fanaticism.
Not 100 tasks. Just:
3 main things
2 things for yourself
1 meeting you can cancel
That’s it. You’re already 90% more effective than any Telegram productivity channel.
Conclusion: No magic—just repetition
You won’t become Buddha.
But you’ll become a version of yourself who at least has a clean T-shirt and an idea of what to do tomorrow.
Small habits don’t change your life instantly. But they do change the person living it.
